Getting a payment into QuickBooks is only part of the job. You still need the payment, processing fees and any refunds recorded correctly so what is in your books matches what actually happened. That reconciliation work can become repetitive quickly when you're processing invoices every month.

Why reconciling payments in QuickBooks is manual work
QuickBooks does a lot, but payment reconciliation is not automatic. When you take a payment, QuickBooks can record it, but matching it to the right invoice, confirming it against your bank, and accounting for the processing fee are still on you. Fees are the worst part: the amount that reaches your bank is the payment minus a fee, so unless you post that fee somewhere, your invoice total and your bank deposit never agree. Multiply that across a month of invoices and it becomes real, repeated bookkeeping.
How SaturnShift reconciles it automatically

The payment is posted to the right invoice
When a customer pays, SaturnShift records a payment against that specific QuickBooks invoice and QuickBooks marks the invoice paid.
The processing fees are recorded
SaturnShift books the payment and its fees together as a bank deposit, with the fees posted to a Merchant Processing Fees expense account, so the net matches what actually hit your bank. If that account does not exist yet, SaturnShift creates it.
Refunds are written back
A refund you issue in SaturnShift is written back to QuickBooks as a refund receipt for that customer.
All of this runs automatically after the payment, usually within a few minutes. You do not match payments or enter fee lines by hand.
What syncs, exactly
It is a two-way connection, and it is worth being precise about what moves.
From QuickBooks into SaturnShift: your open invoices sync in so your customers can pay them, and your customer list syncs in when you choose to pull it (QuickBooks values take precedence, and any SaturnShift-only details you added are kept).
From SaturnShift back into QuickBooks: a payment against the invoice that marks it paid, a deposit that books the payment net of processing fees, refund receipts for refunds, and any late fee you assess added to the invoice. Sales you take directly in SaturnShift, rather than from a QuickBooks invoice, are pushed into QuickBooks as sales receipts with a matching deposit, so those reconcile too.
