How to accept crypto payments on WooCommerce
WooCommerce runs your store, but it does not accept crypto on its own. This guide shows how to add USDC and USDT, alongside cards and ACH, with the official SaturnShift plugin. One-click connect, no API keys, and no code.
Does WooCommerce support crypto by default?
No. WooCommerce is the store layer on top of WordPress: products, cart, checkout and orders. It does not include a crypto payment gateway. To take stablecoin payments you add one through a plugin, the same way you would add any card processor.

Why accept crypto on WooCommerce
No chargebacks on crypto
USDC and USDT transactions are final on-chain. Once settled, a crypto payment cannot be reversed, removing chargeback risk on those orders.
One settlement asset
Whatever network a customer pays on, you receive USDC on Base. You do not manage multiple chains or juggle assets.
Cards and crypto together
The same checkout offers cards, ACH and stablecoins. Crypto-native customers pay in crypto; everyone else pays as usual.
Nothing configured twice
Your methods, branding and surcharge rules live in SaturnShift and sync to the store. There is no second dashboard to maintain.
Step by step: from install to first sale
Install the plugin
Download SaturnShift for WooCommerce, upload it in WordPress under Plugins, and activate it. WooCommerce must be installed and active.
Connect in one click
Go to WooCommerce, then Settings, Payments, SaturnShift, and click "Connect with SaturnShift". Sign in or create a free account, approve, and you are returned to your store connected. No API keys to copy.
Your configuration syncs automatically
On connect, the plugin pulls in your enabled payment methods, branding and surcharge rules, and registers its webhook. Nothing is configured twice.
Start selling
The gateway is enabled on connect. At checkout, customers pick their method and complete payment on a secure hosted SaturnShift checkout, then return to your order page.
Orders keep themselves in sync
Signed webhooks move each order between Pending, Paid, Failed and Refunded automatically. Crypto orders also show an on-chain receipt with a block explorer link.
Do my customers need to own crypto?
Only the ones who want to pay in crypto. A customer paying in USDC or USDT needs a wallet and a stablecoin balance. Everyone else pays by card or bank transfer from the very same checkout.
Crypto is additive, not a replacement. You are not asking customers to change how they pay. You are giving crypto-native shoppers a better option while keeping cards and ACH available for everyone else.
Who pays the network and gas fees?
The customer does, and it is transparent. When someone checks out, SaturnShift calculates the on-chain costs and adds them to the customer total before they pay. Those costs are never deducted from your settlement, so blockchain fees do not reduce what lands in your wallet.
There are three kinds of on-chain cost, all handled the same way and frontloaded onto the customer at checkout: network gas, any cross-chain bridge fee if they pay on a network other than Base, and any USDT-to-USDC conversion. Whatever a customer pays with, you settle in a single asset, USDC on Base.
How orders and refunds stay in sync
When a payment is made, SaturnShift sends a signed webhook to your store and the WooCommerce order updates itself: Pending while awaiting payment, Paid on success, Failed if it does not go through, and Refunded when you issue a refund. Crypto orders also record an on-chain receipt with a block explorer link on the order.
Refunds work from either side. Click Refund on the WooCommerce order and the request is forwarded to SaturnShift, or refund directly in your dashboard. Cards, ACH and crypto are all supported, and the order flips to Refunded once it settles.
Do I have to manage anything in WordPress?
No. Because the plugin is a thin connector, everything you actually manage lives in SaturnShift: refunds, reporting, invoices, settlements, payment links, analytics and customers. WordPress keeps doing what it is good at, running your store, while SaturnShift handles the money. There is no second system to run.
Common questions
Does WooCommerce accept crypto out of the box?
No. WooCommerce runs your store, cart and orders, but it has no built-in crypto gateway. You add crypto by installing a payment plugin. The SaturnShift plugin adds USDC and USDT alongside cards and ACH, all from one checkout.
Do I need API keys?
No. You click "Connect with SaturnShift", approve, and you are connected. There are no keys or secrets to copy or store. It is the same one-click pattern as "Sign in with" buttons.
Which cryptocurrencies can I accept?
USDC and USDT on Ethereum, Base, Polygon and Arbitrum. Whatever network a customer pays on, it settles to your wallet as USDC on Base, so you always receive a single, consistent asset.
Do I pay gas or network fees?
No. Network gas, any cross-chain bridge fee, and any USDT-to-USDC conversion are calculated at checkout and paid by the customer. They are never deducted from your settlement.
Where do I manage refunds and payouts?
In your SaturnShift dashboard. Refunds, reporting, invoices, settlements and analytics all live there. You can also refund straight from the WooCommerce order; either way the order status stays in sync via signed webhooks.
Does it work with the block checkout and HPOS?
